ER410
ER410 is copper-coated 13Cr martensitic stainless steel solid wire, suitable for GMAW (MIG/MAG) and GTAW (TIG) welding.

Features

• Single 13% chromium martensitic composition, matching 410 stainless steel matrix performance
• Good hardness, wear resistance and atmospheric rust resistance
• Stable arc, uniform bead forming, suitable for surfacing & same-material welding
• Continuous service temperature: ≤600°C

Diameter & Packaging

MIG:0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm 1KG Spool/5KG Spool / 15KG Spool
TIG:2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm /4.0mm 5kg plastic tube

Welding Parameters

Polarity: DC+ (DCRP, Direct Current Reverse Polarity)
MIG / MAG
Shielding Gas: 98%Ar + 2%O₂ Gas Flow Rate: 20~25 L/min Reference Current for common sizes: Φ0.8mm:70–140 A Φ1.0mm:90–180 A Φ1.2mm:130–200 A
TIG (GTAW)
Shielding Gas: 99.99% High Purity Argon Gas Flow Rate: 8–14 L/min. Back purging is recommended for thick plates.
Base Metal Matching
Suitable for 410, 410S martensitic stainless steel welding; surfacing wear-resistant anti-rust layer on carbon steel.

Applications

Steam turbine blades, pump shafts, valve sealing surfaces, water turbine parts, anti-rust wear surfacing, heat-resistant mechanical components.
⚠️ Not for chloride, acid strong corrosion environments; not for welding 300-series austenitic stainless steel
Welding Precautions
• Thoroughly remove oil, rust, scale and moisture from grooves before welding to avoid porosity. Use stainless steel-specific grinding wheels/wire brushes.
• Preheat workpiece to 150–250°C before welding; interpass temperature ≤200°C.
• Post-weld tempering treatment (700–760°C) is required to eliminate brittleness and improve toughness.
• Wind protection is required for outdoor welding if wind speed exceeds 1.0 m/s.
ER410 vs ER420
✅ ER410 (low carbon 13Cr): Balanced toughness & hardness, structural parts, anti-rust surfacing
✅ ER420 (higher carbon 13Cr): Higher hardness, wear-resistant tools & cutting components
Important Cautions
• Do not use high CO₂ mixed gas; carbon increase will raise brittleness of martensitic weld.
• Cannot replace ER316L for seawater or acid corrosion service.
