Super Duplex 2507 Flux Cored Wire
E2594T1-1/-4 is designed for Super Duplex 2507 FCAW welding and is suitable for high-alloy duplex stainless steel fabrication.
Typical base materials include:
- UNS S32750 / SAF 2507 / EN 1.4410
- Similar 25% Cr Super Duplex grades
It can also be considered for selected dissimilar joints, subject to the base materials and qualified WPS. Washington Alloy lists applications including S32750, S32550 and other Super Duplex grades.
FCAW Characteristics
The wire is designed for gas-shielded FCAW.
Shielding gas:
Polarity: DCEP (DC+)
The rutile flux system provides stable arc performance, low spatter and good slag coverage and removal. Hyundai confirms CO₂ and Ar-CO₂ mixed gas as suitable shielding options.
Applications
E2594T1-1/-4 is used for Super Duplex stainless steel welding in:
- Offshore piping and structures
- Chemical and petrochemical equipment
- Marine and seawater systems
- Pressure vessels and process piping
Its high-alloy weld metal is suited to applications requiring resistance to pitting, localized corrosion and chloride-related service conditions.
International Classification

These are reference classification limits. Actual weld-metal chemistry varies with shielding gas, manufacturer and production batch and should be confirmed by the MTC. Washington Alloy publishes the same AWS composition limits for E2594T1-1/-4.
Typical All-Weld Metal Mechanical Properties
Typical deposited weld-metal properties may include:
- Yield Strength: approximately 680–705 MPa
- Tensile Strength: approximately 890–910 MPa
- Elongation: approximately 24–28%
Actual properties depend on shielding gas, welding parameters and test conditions. For example, Hyundai reports 680–688 MPa yield strength, 891–896 MPa tensile strength and 24–26% elongation for different shielding gases, while Kobelco reports typical values of 701 MPa, 906 MPa and 27%.
Welding Position & Wire Size
E2594T1-1/-4 is classified for all-position FCAW applications. Hyundai lists 1G, 2F, 3G and 4G welding positions.
A commonly supplied diameter is 1.2 mm (0.045 in). Hyundai lists 1.2 mm with a typical current range of 160–220 A. Other diameters can be supplied according to project requirements.
E2594T1-1/-4 vs E2209T1-1/-4
Both are flux cored wires for duplex stainless steel welding, but they target different material groups.
