E6010 VS E6011 Key Differences
E6010: Sodium cellulosic type, DC+ only, higher penetration, standard root welding electrode for long-distance pipelines.
E6011: Potassium cellulosic type, AC/DC dual-purpose, slightly lower arc force, used for maintenance, thin sheets and general carbon steel welding.

E6011 Features
· Good penetration and moderate arc force. Thin slag easy to remove for all-position welding.
· Works with AC welders, ideal for field sites lacking DC power.
· Suitable for workpieces with light rust and scale.
· Good weld shape and porosity resistance.
· Commonly used for carbon steel repair, thin plate welding and root pass of general pipelines.

Welding Guidelines & Defect Solutions
· Either AC or DC+ (reverse polarity) can be adopted.
· Maintain short arc; long arc tends to cause porosity.
· Remove oil, moisture and heavy rust around the groove.

Common Defects
· Porosity: damp electrode, excessive arc length, surface oil/moisture on workpiece
· Lack of fusion: insufficient current, excessive travel speed


Welding Tips

Short arc welding is recommended. Remove contaminants near groove. Damp electrodes need baking at 70~80℃.


Applicable Base Metals

Low carbon steel, general pipeline steel: API 5L Grade B, X42, X52, A106 Gr.B, S235JR, Q235, etc.


Typical Applications:

Equipment maintenance, thin plate welding, general steel structure and low-pressure pipeline welding.
