ER410NiMo is a low-carbon Cr-Ni-Mo martensitic stainless steel wire. It matches CA6NM (GX4CrNi13-4) cast steel and 410NiMo forgings for welding and repair. With excellent cavitation and silt erosion resistance, it is commonly used for hydropower components and corrosion & wear resistant surfacing on carbon steel.
Welding Characteristics
Applicable Processes: TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW)
Polarity: DCEP (DC+)
Low heat input and narrow weld beads are recommended for thick plates; control interpass temperature.

Shielding Gas

TIG: 100% high-purity Argon
MIG: 98% Ar + 2% O₂; pure CO₂ is prohibited
Back purging with inert gas is suggested for root welding of thick workpieces.
Typical Mechanical Properties (Tempered at 580~620℃)
Tensile Strength: ≥760MPa
Yield Strength: ≥600MPa
Elongation: ≥15%
Good low-temperature impact toughness.

Features

· Low-carbon Ni-Mo alloy design improves toughness and reduces cold cracking versus standard ER410.
· Excellent cavitation and abrasion resistance for long-service hydraulic equipment.
· Balanced mechanical properties after tempering with fully machinable welds.
· Stable arc, minimal spatter and smooth weld appearance for TIG/MIG welding.
Welding Guidelines
Remove rust, grease and moisture from grooves to minimize hydrogen-induced cracking.
Preheat workpieces over 10 mm thick at 100~150℃; interpass temperature ≤250℃.
Post-weld tempering at 580~620℃ is mandatory for stress relief. Do not exceed 620℃ to avoid weld hardening.
Cool slowly after welding to prevent stress cracks.
Base Materials
CA6NM cast steel, 410NiMo forged steel, 410 stainless steel; surfacing on mild steel and low alloy steel.
Typical Applications
Turbine runners, blades, volutes, valve bodies, pump casings; repair of cracks and defects on hydraulic equipment; erosion-resistant load-bearing components.
