ER90S-B3
ER90S-B3 is a copper-coated 2.25Cr-1Mo low alloy heat-resistant solid wire for GMAW (MIG/MAG) and GTAW (TIG). It is designed for welding chromium-molybdenum heat-resistant steel, delivering excellent high-temperature creep strength, hydrogen corrosion resistance and stable high-temperature service performance.

Features

• 2.25Cr-1Mo alloy composition provides outstanding high-temperature creep resistance and structural stability for long-term high-pressure and high-temperature operation.
• Superior resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and high-temperature sulfur corrosion, adapting to severe petrochemical hydrogenation working conditions.
• Stable arc performance, low spatter generation and uniform weld bead, ensuring smooth welding operation and minimal post-weld finishing.
• Strictly controlled chemical composition and stable mechanical properties, complying with industrial standards for high-temperature pressure equipment welding.

Diameter & Packaging

MIG:0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm 5KG Spool / 15KG Spool
TIG:2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm 5kg plastic tube

Welding Parameters

Polarity: DC+ (DCRP)

Shielding Gas

MIG/MAG: Ar + 5%~15% CO₂, Flow rate: 15–20 L/min
TIG: Pure Argon (99.99%)
Preheat & Interpass Temperature
180~220 ℃ for thick plates or high-restraint joints to prevent hydrogen-induced cold cracking.
Typical Φ1.2 mm MAG parameters: Current 160~220 A; Voltage 22~26 V
Deposited Metal Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: ≥620 MPa (90 ksi)
Yield Strength: ≥520 MPa
Elongation: ≥16 %
Charpy V-notch: ≥27 J (Room temperature)

Applications

Suitable for welding 2.25Cr-1Mo heat-resistant steels including A335 P22, A213 T22 and F22 steel. Widely used in power plant high-temperature steam pipelines, boiler heat exchange components, petrochemical hydrogenation reactors, high-temperature and high-pressure furnace tubes and thermal power equipment.
Welding Precautions
• Dedicated for 2.25Cr-1Mo heat-resistant steel welding; not interchangeable with carbon steel, low-temperature steel or other chrome-moly welding wires.
• Completely remove oil, rust, scale and moisture from the groove and surrounding base metal to prevent porosity and inclusion defects.
• Maintain standardized preheat and interpass temperature throughout welding process to avoid brittle cracking and improve weld compactness.
• PWHT is mandatory for pressure-bearing and high-temperature service components to stabilize microstructure and optimize mechanical properties.
• The continuous service temperature of welded joints shall not exceed 600 ℃ to ensure long-term operational safety.
