ER90S-B92
ER90S-B92 is a copper-coated modified 9Cr-1Mo low alloy heat-resistant solid wire for GMAW (MIG/MAG) and GTAW (TIG). It is developed for advanced high-temperature creep-resistant steel welding, featuring fine grain microstructure, excellent high-temperature strength and superior oxidation resistance.
Features
-Optimized 9Cr-1Mo-V-Nb alloy composition provides exceptional high-temperature creep strength and thermal stability for ultra-supercritical power unit service conditions.
• Excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation, steam corrosion and hydrogen-induced cracking, adapting to extreme high-temperature and high-pressure working environments.
• Stable arc combustion, low spatter and uniform weld bead formation, ensuring smooth welding operation and low post-weld processing volume.
• Controlled trace elements and stable mechanical properties, fully meeting technical standards for high-end thermal power pressure equipment.
Diameter & Packaging
MIG:0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm 5KG Spool / 15KG Spool
TIG:2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm 5kg plastic tube
Welding Parameters
Polarity: DC+ (DCRP)
Shielding Gas
MIG/MAG: Ar + 5%~15% CO₂, Flow rate: 15–20 L/min
TIG: Pure Argon (99.99%)
Preheat & Interpass Temperature
200~250 ℃ for thick plates or high-restraint joints to prevent cold cracking and embrittlement.
Typical Φ1.2 mm MAG parameters: Current 160~220 A; Voltage 22~26 V
Deposited Metal Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: ≥620 MPa (90 ksi)
Yield Strength: ≥515 MPa
Elongation: ≥15 %
Charpy V-notch: ≥27 J (Room temperature)
Applications
Suitable for welding modified 9Cr-1Mo (P91/T91) heat-resistant steels. Widely used in ultra-supercritical power plant boiler tubes, main steam pipelines, high-temperature headers, thermal power unit pressure components and high-end petrochemical high-temperature resistant equipment.
Welding Precautions
• Dedicated for P91 modified 9Cr-1Mo steel welding; do not use for carbon steel, low-temperature steel, P9 or P22 steel welding to avoid performance mismatch.
• Thoroughly remove oil, rust, scale and moisture from the groove and base metal surrounding area to prevent porosity and non-metallic inclusions.
• Strictly implement specified preheating and interpass temperature control to inhibit hardening structure and brittle cracking of weld metal.
• Special standardized PWHT is mandatory after welding to temper martensitic structure and optimize comprehensive mechanical properties.
• The continuous service temperature of welded joints shall not exceed 650 ℃ to ensure long-term safe and stable operation of equipment.
