ERNiCrFe-5 (SNi6062) is a Ni-Cr-Fe-Nb nickel-based solid wire with superior oxidation & chloride stress corrosion resistance and low hot cracking tendency. For Inconel 690/600/601 welding and dissimilar joints, ideal for nuclear and chemical high-temperature corrosive applications.
Welding Characteristics
Applicable Processes: TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW)
Polarity: DCEN (DC-)
Low heat input and narrow multi-pass welds recommended; strictly control interpass temperature. Short arc operation preferred for nickel alloys.
Shielding Gas
TIG: 100% high-purity Argon
MIG: 100% Argon preferred; Ar with minor Helium optional for deeper penetration
Back shielding is recommended for root passes to avoid oxidation.
Typical Mechanical Properties (As-Welded)
Tensile Strength: ≥550MPa
Elongation: ≥30%
Good toughness at room and high temperatures.
