ERNiFe-CI (Nickel 55) is wire and electrode filler metal with roughly 55% nickel and 45% iron. It is widely applied to welding and repair of grey cast iron, ductile iron and dissimilar metal connections, offering higher strength and better crack resistance compared with pure nickel consumables.
Comparison between ERNi-CI and ERNiFe-CI
ERNiFe-CI: Higher strength, cost-effective. Suitable for large-area repair and load-bearing components with moderate machinability.
ERNi-CI: Better ductility and excellent weld machinability. Ideal for high-precision repairs requiring machining.

Welding Characteristics
Applicable Processes: TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW)
Polarity: DCEN (DC-) Short, segmented intermittent welding is recommended to reduce stress and cracking tendency.

Welding Guidelines
Thoroughly remove grease, graphite and oxide scale on grooves; flame cleaning for oil-penetrated castings.
Use low current, low heat input and narrow weld beads.
Lightly hammer weld beads after welding to relieve stress.
Preheat thick workpieces at 80~120℃ and avoid rapid cooling.
Machinability is inferior to ERNi-CI; select pure nickel wire for precision machining applications.
