Key Comparison E6010 / E6011 / E6013

E6010: Sodium cellulosic type, DC+ only. Highest penetration, specially for root pass welding of long-distance pipelines.
E6011: Potassium cellulosic type, AC/DC+ compatible. Good penetration, for field maintenance and general pipeline welding.
E6013: Rutile high-titania potassium type, AC/DC universal. Soft arc and excellent weld appearance; suitable for thin plates, light structures and cosmetic welding. Shallow penetration, NOT applicable for vertical-down pipeline root welding.


E6013 Features

· Stable & soft arc, low spatter, easy ignition and re-ignition.
· Slag easy to remove, fine and attractive weld bead.
· Medium-shallow penetration, ideal for thin plates without burn-through.
· Compatible with AC welding machines, perfect for tack welds and cosmetic welding.
· Less tolerant to heavy rust and surface contamination than cellulosic electrodes.


E6013 Welding Tips

· Compatible with AC, DC+ or DC-. Use DC- for thinner sheets to reduce penetration.
· Maintain short arc; long arc may cause porosity.
· Remove oil, moisture and heavy rust at welding area.

Common Defects
· Porosity: damp electrode, long arc, surface contaminants
· Lack of fusion: insufficient current, fast travel speed
· Burn-through: excessive welding current


E6013 Applicable Base Metals

Low carbon steel and light structural steel: Q235, S235JR, A106 Gr.B, thin carbon steel sheets.

E6013 Typical Applications:
Thin plate welding, light steel structure, equipment maintenance, cosmetic welds, tack welds.
