ER4046 (AlSi10Mg) is an aluminum-silicon-magnesium filler wire for welding cast aluminum and 6xxx wrought aluminum alloys.
Key Features: Moderate silicon content delivers excellent weld fluidity and superior crack resistance for restrained joints. Features better ductility than ER4047 for reliable cast aluminum welding. Caution: Visible color difference after anodizing; not suitable for 5xxx high-magnesium aluminum alloys.

- Preferred shielding gas: 100% pure Ar. Ar+He mixture is available for thick plates requiring deep penetration.

Recommended Base Metals
✅ Recommended: A356, ADC12, ZL104 cast aluminum alloys; 6061, 6063, 6082 Al-Mg-Si alloys
✅ Dissimilar welding: Cast aluminum ↔ 6xxx wrought aluminum alloys
⚠️ Caution: Not recommended for high-toughness bearing structural parts
❌ Do not weld 5xxx high-magnesium aluminum alloys, which causes weld brittleness and reduced corrosion resistance
