ER4643 (AlSi4) is a low-silicon aluminum-silicon filler wire for welding heat-treatable 6xxx aluminum alloys.
Key Features: Low silicon content minimizes loss of base metal strength; good fluidity and wettability. Caution: Not recommended for cast aluminum; avoid welding high-magnesium 5xxx alloys.

• MIG wires: 0.8/0.9/1.0/1.2/1.6 mm, Standard spools: 0.45kg, 0.5kg, 1kg, 2kg,6 kg, 7 kg
-TIG rods: 2.0/2.4/3.2/4.0/5.0 mm, 1m fixed length, packed in5kg plastic tube and 5kg cardboard box.
Welding Polarity
• MIG (GMAW)：DCEP
• TIG (GTAW)：AC
Shielding Gas (MIG + TIG)
• Preferred shielding gas: 100% pure Ar. Ar+He mixture is available for thick plates requiring deep penetration.
• Flow rate: MIG 18–25 L/min, TIG 12–18 L/min.
Mechanical Properties of Deposited Metal
• Tensile Strength: 160–190 MPa
• Yield Strength: 70–95 MPa
• Elongation (A5): 10%–16%
• Melting Range: 595–635℃
Key Advantages
• Designed for welding 6061, 6063, 6082 heat-treatable Al-Mg-Si alloys
• Low silicon level reduces adverse impact on post-weld heat treatment
• Better ductility than high-silicon wires, lower risk of brittle weld zones
• Stable arc, low spatter and smooth weld bead
• Works with MIG and TIG; suitable for thin and medium-thickness aluminum profiles
• Less anodizing discoloration compared with ER4043 / ER4047
Recommended Base Metals
✅ Recommended: 6061, 6063, 6005, 6082 Al-Mg-Si wrought alloys
✅ Dissimilar welding: Various 6xxx alloy combinations
⚠️ Caution: Not ideal for silicon-rich cast aluminum; poor crack resistance for highly restrained joints
❌ Do not mix with 5xxx high-magnesium aluminum alloys, brittle intermetallic phases will form
