Standard Diameter & Packaging
• MIG wires: 0.8/0.9/1.0/1.2/1.6 mm, Standard spools: 0.45kg, 0.5kg, 1kg, 2kg,6 kg, 7 kg
• TIG rods: 1.6/2.0/2.4/3.2/4.0/5.0 mm, 1m fixed length, packed in5kg plastic tube and 5kg cardboard box.
Shielding Gas
• Preferred: 100% pure Ar. Ar+He mixture for thick plates with deep penetration
• Flow rate: MIG 18–25 L/min, TIG 12–18 L/min
Mechanical Properties of Deposited Metal
• Tensile Strength: 230–260 MPa
• Yield Strength: 110–130 MPa
• Elongation (A5): 17%–20%
• Melting Range: 595–650℃
Key Advantages
• Preferred filler metal for 5454 aluminum alloy
• Outstanding stress corrosion resistance at 65~120℃ continuous service; ER5356 not recommended
• High ductility, smooth weld, low cracking risk for thin sheets
• Uniform white finish after anodizing, suitable for aesthetic components
• Good resistance to atmosphere, fresh water and mild salt spray; works with MIG and TIG
• Stable arc, smooth feeding and minimal spatter
Recommended Base Metals
✅ Recommended: 5454, 5154, 5254 Al-Mg alloys
✅ Dissimilar welding: 5xxx (5454) ↔ 6xxx (6061/6063/6082) Al-Mg-Si alloys
⚠️ Caution: Avoid high-Mg 5xxx like 5083; ER5183 is preferred
❌ Not for cast aluminum or 4xxx Al-Si alloys

Common Welding Problem & Solutions
• Weld Porosity
Cause: Insufficient oxide cleaning, wet gas, wind disturbance.
Solution: Complete cleaning, wind shield, ≥99.999 high-purity Ar.
• High-temperature Joint Corrosion
Cause: Wrong selection of ER5356 for continuous high-temp parts.
Solution: Use ER5554 for high-temperature applications.
